Grey Small Raised Coin Vinyl Flooring is constructed of solid polyvinyl and is not layered with low-grade material like other inexpensive brands. The felt backing gives the flooring an added layer of cushion. In turn, this helps with the contraction and expansion issues and assists with the ease of the permanent application process. This product is waterproof, slip and stain-resistant, and mold and mildew resistant. It has an embossed surface than can withstand high volumes of pedestrian traffic and is tough enough to drive a car on. It is commonly used by many OEMs in the cargo trailer industry here in Northern Indiana. What differentiates our product is the 8’2″ width made especially for trailer use to eliminate waste and save money. For permanent glue-down installation, we recommend using one of our high-quality adhesive products such as Source Hard Set (for installation over a wood substrate) or Source Acrylic Pressure Sensitive (for installation over a metal substrate). I purchased the grey small coin felt backed vinyl to install in a campervan and was very happy with the order process, shipping, and quality. The thickness is advertised as .055″ thick but doesn’t specify if this includes the felt backing and if this measurement is from the top of the raised coin surface or from the surface without the raised coin. The actual thicknesss of the vinyl without the felt backing is .045″ in the areas without the raised coin and .072″ for the areas with the raised coin. The approximate thickness of the felt is .017″. I installed several months ago on new hardwood subfloor and have not had any signs of cracking or expansion/contraction issues. Prior to installing, I unrolled the 17 linear foot roll at ambient temperature and measured the total length the following day and noticed that it was 1″ short of the 17′. Not a big deal but I was expecting/hoping they would have given me a few extra inches. The cardboard tube that it was shipped in arrived from UPS creased and bent but the vinyl appeared to have no damage.
